Original chocolate brown leather (very slight wear to upper hinge of volume 1). Spines with silver decoration, volume numbers and titling. Boards with elaborately silver stamped fleurons within scrolling and dog-tooth borders. Complete with original slipcase, sprayed in gold over a re-brown underlay. Produced by photo-lithographic reduction. "A Spanish book which used to be encountered quite frequently but has now become scarce" (Bondy, 178 in 1981). Spielmann, 85. Welsh, 1707. Normally found in a green binding with gilt decoration, this is an uncommon variant of a complete and well-produced edition of the greatest Spanish classic, in charmingly small format.
